Federal Law No 20_2000 On The Establishment Of The Courts Of Appeal In Ajman Emirate And Al Fujairah Emirate
The given law, Federal Law No. 20/2000, establishes the Courts of Appeal in Ajman Emirate and Al Fujairah Emirate in the United Arab Emirates. The law states that a Federal Court of Appeal will be set up in each of these two emirates, namely the "Ajman Federal Court of Appeal" and the "Al Fujairah Federal Court of Appeal." These courts will have the authority to hear appeals against judgments issued by the Federal Courts of First Instance in these emirates, as well as other disputes according to applicable laws. Disputes previously examined by the Sharjah Federal Court of Appeal will be transferred to these two courts without any additional fees, except for cases where the judgment has already been announced. The law also specifies the jurisdiction and powers of these courts, including the ability to review judgments, issue new judgments, and enforce judgments. Any provisions contradicting this law will be abolished. The law was promulgated by the President of the United Arab Emirates and came into effect on September 16, 2000.
