Ajman Administrative Decision No. 4/2008 establishes a Safety and Security Committee in the Department of Public Health in Ajman. The committee is responsible for implementing quality regulations and global standards for laboratory rehabilitation and adoption. It aims to ensure the safety and security of the central laboratory for food and environment control and the well-being of its workers. The committee consists of a chairman and three members. Its tasks include assessing laboratory risks and risks to laboratory workers, developing safety and security procedures, setting controls and restrictions for laboratory access, preparing an evacuation plan for emergencies, providing firefighting and first aid equipment and training, creating educational materials on laboratory risks and accidents, proposing safe disposal methods for dangerous wastes, and submitting periodic reports with proposals and recommendations to the Director General. Any conflicting provisions from previous decisions or recommendations are abrogated. The decision came into effect on 18/02/2008 and was published in the Official Gazette of 2008 for the Emirate of Ajman.
