Ajman Administrative Decision No. 1/2016 states that all owners of commercial and residential buildings in Ajman must comply with public safety requirements. This includes regular maintenance of the buildings and fire detection systems. To ensure compliance, a Public Safety Licence must be obtained, which requires meeting certain conditions and paying a fee of AED 500. The licence needs to be renewed annually. The Department's sector of engineering affairs will oversee the implementation of this decision in coordination with the General Directorate of Civil Defence. Any previous conflicting provisions are abrogated. The decision was issued on 06/01/2016 by Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department. It was published in the Official Gazette of the government of Ajman in 2016.
